Their Story

Whether a life is lived, lost, improved, or grieved the animals we encounter compose themselves in the shared fight to give others a second chance at theirs.

Meet Missy

Meet Missy, the first pet we were able to help with The Underdog Fund. As much as we love Missy, the truth is she’s never been a fan of us. That’s why when she came in for a concerning mass and didn’t try eat our face off, we knew something was wrong. Missy was determined to have a mass cell tumor requiring time-sensitive surgical removal. Unable to afford the surgery, the Underdog Fund stepped in. We were able to help with the funds of the surgery, and Missy was able to go home that day, having been given the rest of her life back, and what time she needed to plot her revenge against us.

Meet Kream

Kream came to us after her owner noticed she’d been lethargic and experiencing vaginal discharge. Diagnostics revealed she had a pyometra, a life-threatening infection in the uterus. A pyometra is preventable by getting your animal spayed, but in Kream’s case, she required emergent surgery to remove her infected uterus. With her owner unable to afford the cost of the surgery, the staff nominated her for assistance via the Underdog Fund. Thanks to your donations, Kream’s owner didn’t have to choose between the financial and emotional cost of her pet’s life. Kream went home to her family that day, and now two years later, we’re lucky enough to see her living the rest of her best life.
